Trace the line from the ice maker down the back side of the unit to the valve now pull the water line for the ice maker out of the valve and blow into the waterline. The first thing to do is open the left french door of the refrigerator take out the ice cube box and look for a frosted and iced. To determine if the motor is defective first determine if the motor is getting power. When the freezer door is opened the freezer door switch does two things.

If the im fan isn t running it doesn t make ice period.
